P A I N...

Woah. Now that is a word we all try to avoid. This word embarks in our mind, body and heart.

Whether it be from a loss of a loved one, a break up from a relationship or something physical related. What I find to be interesting is even though we may not relate to everyone, this is a particular emotion we do relate to.

I'm writing about this, because today I woke up with a pain in my chest that felt as if I was struck by a sledgehammer... not sure if it is a cause from a wreck I was recently involved in, the fact I haven't rested much, or part of the cons of overcoming anxiety.

What do I do in these moments that sometimes bring me to tears? I do what I know best. Intercede in prayer, do what makes me feel at peace and most importantly, take time to rest.

Out of experience, I know that mind over matter is truly an escape in regards to being trapped in a mindset of bleakness. Instead of dwelling on the pain and holding hands with the lies of the enemy... I choose to dwell on the promises and the never ending word that brings forth good fruit and sovereignty. And by no means am I trying to be optimistic or sound insensitive, because I do believe in the process of healing and time. I am stating that I do not want to be set back or held in captivity within a season where God can use me, speak to me or plant me where I can flourish into who He has called me to be.

It is easy to give up and give in. It is easy to stop and end it all. It is easy to believe lies and accept the world views or expectations. It is easy to feel as if we do not matter. It is easy to think there is no way out...

So please, do not give in and do not give up. Do not choose the easy route. Choose life. Because throughout my 27 years of living, I can strongly say one thing I know for sure is pain does not last forever. It may be difficult to see the beauty and light when blinded by negativity, but I encourage you to cling onto Psalm 30:5 which declares, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

God sees you. God knows you. And God is for you. No person, no disappointment, no sickness, no trial, no temptation, no earthly desire can keep you from the destination the Lord has for you. For the forces that are for you are much stronger than the forces against you. The One who’s blood flows through our viens, the One who breathed life into our lungs, the One who gives us strength in our most valuable moments, the One who opened His arms to welcome us into His life, the One who spoke us and everything into creation is the One who IS for us.

There is a plan in the future that is much greater and far more than what we can imagine or comprehend. Just hold on... take a breath... and live. You won't regret it. Pain won't last forever.

Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
